Book Recommendation of the Week –
Have You Filled A Bucket Today? By: Carol McCloud
Military families can feel like they are carrying around buckets full of stress and worries that are weighing them down. This heartwarming book encourages positive behaviour as children see how very easy and rewarding it is to express kindness, appreciation, and love on a daily basis. This book is intended to be a simple guide for children to find happiness and share it with others too. It also points out the effect that your mood can have on others.
In schools I have worked at, teachers have had students draw and cut out buckets and posted them on the wall. Each week students are given five sheets of paper and on these sheets they are to write things that they have done that fill their bucket.
